TBL: Coming up, do you share any scenes with Colton? Your tweets from you traveling together are very cute.

JB: We haven’t, and I think these are the other things that if I were to continue, I’d like to explore Malcolm’s relationship with the rest of the pack. Even with Emily’s character, Felicity, if there is a future, there’s going to be some run-in’s with that team. Knowing sci-fi, I can see where they’re going with this. They’re creating a league of superheroes type thing. That’s nothing that’s been told to me, I’m just totally guessing that as a fan. All I’ll say again is Malcolm Merlyn is the Lex Luther of this world.

Colton’s a great guy. He and I met on that first flight we had up to Vancouver…he said he was a fan and he watched Torchwood, and I thought how really sweet that this 24-year-old is a fan of mine. Like anybody in the cast, he’s not hard on the eyes.

TBL: He’s just so chiseled, it’s ridiculous.

JB: It’s amazing, isn’t it? He’s got amazing structure. So we come off of the flight and there are paparazzi there. He looks at me and says, ‘Should we pose?’ I’m like, ‘No, just follow my lead.’ He said, ‘What are you going to do?’ That’s when I just grabbed his hand and walked. He didn’t know what to do. He said, ‘That’s f***ing hysterical.’ I’m like, ‘That’s the kind of guy I am.’ He’s a great kid and we have a great time and he’s becoming a really good friend, which I think is really nice.

TBL: When you’re with somebody that young, is there advice given or does he ask?

JB: He asks some things. He’s got a good business manager and team around him, I guess, but I never give advice out because I don’t want to sound like the old man, which I’m not. I don’t want to give advice out unless I’m asked, but if I see someone making a mistake, they have to make that mistake. If I say to them, you know maybe you should have done that differently.

Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) is a little bit obsessed with finding The Hood. Is it a case of just wanting to thank his savior, or does he feel — misguidedly or not — that he has something to offer the vigilante in return?
That’s actually something that we are going to be slowly revealing over the last four episodes of the season. But you’ll learn in Episode 22 the real reason why finding The Hood is so important to him. We certainly lay the foundation for that in Episode 20. Episode 20 is the first episode after his important encounter with The Hood in the subway in Episode 18. So, we’re telling like this little three-part story that really reaches its climax in part four, which is our season finale, Episode 23 … The best stuff really is yet to come as far as Roy’s concerned.

IGN TV: Even as Ollie lost touch with Dig in this episode, it seemed like you guys were setting the stage for Thea and Roy to join up with him. Can you talk about how much their hunt for the vigilante is going to be a focus in these episodes?

Kreisberg: Everything that we’ve set up in the last couple episodes is going to play out in the final three. Everyone is sort of on a collision course. Oliver with his mother and Malcolm, and Thea and Roy closing in on Oliver. There’s big, emotional stakes coming up and a lot of conflicts and relationships coming these characters’ way in the last couple of episodes.

On April 27th Colton attended the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner at the Washington Hilton. Colton was joined by many other celebs such as Kevin McHale and Amy Poehler. “Arrow”: We’ve all been waiting for the moment when Roy Harper meets Oliver Queen without his hood… and it’s coming. Thea confides in Oliver that she and Roy have been looking for the vigilante. “He comes and confronts me and pretty much tells me that it’s a bad idea. He’s a little stern with Roy. Roy, of course, does his eye-roll, and isn’t happy with Oliver, and kind of still thinks Oliver’s kind of a wimp,” Colton Haynes tells us. Roy is in for a bit of a surprise when he finally does find out the identity of the Hood — but don’t expect it to happen any time soon!

Last week I presented an unedited 10-minute interview with Arrow star Emily Bett Rickards. Since you guys seemed to love it so much, I’ve decided to copy the formula with her co-star Colton Haynes and show you the raw footage from our sit-down today.

Of course last night’s Arrow was front and center in my mind (what happens now that Thea’s joined Roy’s hunt for The Hood?), but things quickly took a detour into randomville as we discussed cooking, cleaning and cosmetology.

But fret not because I quickly course corrected to get his take on the worrisome finale description and those rumors he’s gaining 25 pounds of muscle for season two. And then I posed a potentially polarizing question to the former Teen Wolf star. Watch!

After 3 weeks off, Arrow returned all new to our TV’s last night with the 20th episode of Season 1 entitled “Home Invasion”. Colton wasn’t featured that much but safe to say his hunt for the vigilante is full steam ahead! How cute were Thea & Roy last night also? HEROES ARE FORGED AND SACRIFICES MADE IN THIS EPIC SEASON FINALE — Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Diggle (David Ramsey) race to stop the Dark Archer (John Barrowman) from unleashing his vengeance on The Glades. However, they run into a roadblock after Detective Lance (Paul Blackthorne) picks up Felicity for questioning. Tommy (Colin Donnell) and Oliver’s already tumultuous relationship takes a turn for the worse after Oliver makes a confession about Laurel (Katie Cassidy). After hearing of the danger in The Glades, Thea (Willa Holland) races to find Roy (Colton Haynes), inadvertently putting herself directly in the line of fire for Malcolm’s (John Barrowman) devious plan. On the island, Oliver, Slade (Manu Bennett) and Shado (guest star Celina Jade) are locked in a life-or-death struggle against Fyers (guest star Sebastian Dunn) as his missiles lock on a full Ferris Air jetliner. Now that Roy Harper is going to become obsessed with finding The Hood, what will viewers be seeing with Oliver and Roy?

AMELL: We don’t see a ton of myself and Roy Harper this year, but there is one really good scene. I love the end of seasons, in general, that tie everything off and make you go, “Wow, where is it going to go?!” Just when you think there’s nothing, you sprinkle in a few little things. Whether it’s Diggle’s involvement with a certain organization, that you’ll see over the next couple of episodes, or me confronting Roy with Thea right there, while we are services a lot of our storylines for Season 1, you do start to see little Easter eggs along the way for Season 2.

What’s Thea’s role, in these last episodes?

AMELL: Well, we don’t see a great deal of Thea in Episode 21 because it certainly has more flashbacks and longer flashbacks than we’re accustomed to. We wanted to tell the origin story of the season. But, Thea and Roy are on the trail of the vigilante. If the police can’t just catch him, they’re not going to catch him, but Oliver does catch wind of it, before the end of the season. That leads to some interesting interactions between the three of them. And then, it’s time for Thea, in the finale, to actually really stand on her own and have some heroic moments of her own. And Willa [Holland] continues to impress. I think it’s really fantastic because Willa is such a wonderful actor. I feel like she’s just sitting there, waiting to be really utilized. In the first few episodes, she was trying to get me to open up, and then we basically stopped having meaningful, adult conversations. That’s something Oliver and Thea never had. She was 12, or thereabouts, when he left on the Queen’s Gambit. I think it would be very exciting, in coming seasons, to put them more on an adult-level relationship because she is so capable and is going to be a huge asset for the show, even more so than now.

There are various possibilities for who could be Arrow’s sidekick. Is there any chance it could end up being both Thea and Roy, and just having a big team of people helping him out?

AMELL: Of course! Things just continue to get bigger and bigger. Before the start of the second episode, you’d be wondering if Oliver would let anyone know his secret. Now, he’s let 5 people know. One of them didn’t survive, so there are four people that exist in the world, right now, who know his secret, let alone people that may be lurking around from the island, that know what he’s been up to. I don’t think it would be responsible to have any sort of cap on the size of the team that he will use or might need.

Who’s Excited?

Thea Kicking Ass: While we’ll see Thea and Roy continue their quest to find the vigilante: “Oliver does catch wind of this before the end of the season, which leads to some interesting interaction between the three of them. And then it’s time for Thea in the finale to, I think, really stand on her own and have a few heroic moments of her own.”

Season 2 Hints: While there’s much to wrap up in four episodes, Amell hinted that we will see bits of the next season by the end of year one: “Whether it’s Diggle’s involvement with a certain organization that we’re seeing over the next couple of episodes or me confronting Roy with Thea right there in a particular scene, while we are servicing a lot of our storylines for season one, you do start to see little Easter eggs along the way for season two.”
